ABOUT STEP BY DESIGN

A Different Way to Experience a 5K.

Step by Design was created around a simple idea: not every 5K needs the same starting line. We provide featured routes in different cities and give you the freedom to experience the distance on a schedule that works for you.

THE IDEA

One Distance. Different Experiences.

Traditional races bring everyone together on one course at one time. Step by Design takes a more flexible approach. Each featured route gives you a place to start, a 5K path to follow, and a suggested date and start time. From there, the experience is yours.

Run the route as suggested or choose another time that works better for you. The goal is simple: make completing a 5K easier to fit into your life while still giving you a route worth experiencing.

BUILT AROUND YOUR SCHEDULE

A Suggested Start, Not a Required One.

Every featured route includes a suggested date and start time for anyone who wants to follow the recommended Step by Design schedule. These suggestions are completely optional.

Run in the morning, later that afternoon, or on another day entirely. Choose the time that works best for you.

Your route. Your pace. Your way.

THE PHILOSOPHY

The distance stays the same. The experience doesn’t have to.

Run it. Walk it. Bring a friend. Take in the city. Step by Design is less about racing the clock and more about experiencing the route in a way that works for you.

However you complete the 5K, the path is part of the experience.
